Job Summary
Hywel Dda UHB Information Services invites applications for a Corporate Information Manager to oversee the provision of the Corporate Information Service, ensuring data and analytics needs are met and supporting evidenceābased decisionāmaking. The role supports senior managers and clinicians, delivers statutory reporting to Welsh Government and NHS Wales, advances data quality and system improvement, and leads a small team. Welsh language is desirable; bilingual staff are welcomed.
Responsibilities
- Work with senior managers and clinicians to provide information and analysis to support service delivery.
- Deliver statutory reporting and data flows to Welsh Government and NHS Wales.
- Provide professional advice and support for data collection, analysis, definitions and standards.
- Maintain and continually improve data capture, processing, error checking and reporting systems.
- Manage data standards, including the Welsh Patient Administration System.
- Oversee corporate reporting service, including regular reporting, ad hoc analysis, Freedom of Information requests and new Power BI developments.
- Interpret, analyse and present data and intelligence.
- Provide line management for the service, coordinating workload and priorities, ensuring delivery of a professional, highāquality service.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
- Masterās degree level qualification in a numerate/analytical discipline or significant experience at an equivalent level in a senior information management role.
Essential Experience
- Significant experience in identifying and resolving complex data problems in clinical and administrative systems.
- Experience using analytical tools: statistical techniques, forecasting and benchmarking.
- Strong planning, organisational, prioritisation and strategy formulation skills.
- Experience designing and implementing reporting systems and monitoring information processes.
- Direct management and development of others.
Desirable Qualifications or Experience
- SQL proficiency.
- Ongoing CPD.
- Experience working in large, complex public sector organisations, preferably NHS.
- Evidence of work with clinical teams to improve performance/service delivery.
- Experience building, leading, motivating and developing teams.
- Welsh speaker (Level 1).
