Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare Staff NurseJob Summary: An exciting opportunity within the Sexual and Reproductive Health Service for a Band 5 Nurse. You will work 22.5 hours per week, based at the Pembroke Dock Clinic with regular duties at Tenby, WGH and other Sexual Health Clinics across Hywel Dda.

Our busy team sees approximately 35,000 patients each year, offering a mix of virtual and face‐to‐face consultations that cover routine and complex contraception, STI management, cervical screening, pregnancy advisory/abortion services, and psychosexual counselling. This developmental post provides opportunities to enhance clinical expertise in all aspects of sexual and reproductive health care.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake formal academic, theoretical and practical training to develop integrated sexual health skills.

Provide confidential, sensitive and non‐judgemental sexual health advice both virtually and face‐to‐face.

Advise patients on contraception methods, STI detection and management, and risk reduction.

Conduct termination of pregnancy consultations in line with NMC guidelines and the Abortion Act 1967.

Assist medical staff with termination of pregnancy services and support patients before, during and after the procedure.

Speak Welsh is desirable; English and Welsh speakers are welcome.

Essential Qualifications and Knowledge

Level 1 Registered Nurse.

Current NMC Registration.

Interest in sexual and reproductive health care and abortion care.

Evidence of continuing professional development.

Ability to relate theory to practice and to maintain professional development.

Willingness to develop skills and further knowledge.

Desirable Qualifications

Accredited contraceptive / sexual and reproductive health qualification.

Teaching qualification.

Cervical smear taker.

Phlebotomy skills.

Experience

Post‐registration experience (essential).

Experience of Sexual and Reproductive Health Care Nursing (desirable).

Use of PGDs/PDSs (desirable).

Language SkillsDesirable: Welsh speaker (Level 1). English and Welsh language proficiency acceptable.

Salary and Working ConditionsBand 5: £31,516 to £38,364 per year (pro‐rata). Permanent contract, part‐time, 22.5 hours per week.
