We are recruiting for a Health Records Clerk to be based in our Health Records Department at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.

Overview

Previous experience is not required, as on‑job training will be provided. The role will begin training in the Filing Library and then expose you to other duties within the department at both the Prince Philip Hospital and Dafen Industrial Estate sites. Hywel Dda University Health Board provides NHS services across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and surrounding counties, employing over 13,000 staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Filing and retrieving patient records and locating records for all outpatient appointments, planned admissions and day case attendances.
  • Operation of a computerised patients administration system, including inputting and retrieval of data.
  • Arranging patient hospital appointments via the appointment centre and general telephone duties.
  • Scanning records for various departments.
  • Providing a flexible and adaptable service, undertaking additional duties as required.
  • Working effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • No previous experience required; on‑job training provided.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills and a knowledge of patient administration systems a plus.
  • Willingness to undertake additional duties as required.
  • Welsh language speaking desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers welcome.
