We are advertising a Consultant in Otorhinolaryngology with a special interest in Rhinology to join the Hywel Dda University Health Board. The post aims to lead the Rhinology subspecialty, delivering care for the population served by the Health Board, and to influence service improvement through innovative technology and pathway reform as part of the Welsh Clinical Implementation Group for Ear, Nose and Throat and Audiology. The successful candidate will join a small team dedicated to patients and service delivery. Primary base at Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen, with outpatient clinics on peripheral sites. The role provides a service in Otorhinolaryngology with a specialist interest in Rhinology alongside consultant colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Direct clinical contact through outpatient clinics, ward rounds and theatre activity.
- Administration and validation of patients with research and audit opportunities.
- Maintain clinical competence through registration and continuing professional development.
- Work closely with senior management colleagues and contribute to service improvement and departmental governance.
- Teaching and mentoring of junior staff is encouraged.
- As a senior employee, work in close cooperation with other clinical, medical, professional and managerial colleagues to provide high-quality healthcare.
Qualifications:
- Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (or equivalent) and have CCT or be eligible for inclusion on specialist register.

Primary base at Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen with outpatient clinics on peripheral sites. The post reports to the Clinical Director & Acute General Manager/Clinical Team Lead within the Specialty with ultimate accountability to the Chief Executive.
