Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Systems Specialist to join the Data Center Power & Control Division Starline Team in Reading, UK.

We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Quality Systems Specialist to join our Quality Assurance team. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing our Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 standards. You will lead internal audits, manage quality training for new staff, ensure timely closure of non‑conformances raised both internally and externally, and execute special projects as delegated by the Quality Assurance Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of quality systems and a passion for continuous improvement.

Main Job Duties

  • Maintain and improve the QMS to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer‑specific requirements.
  • Plan, execute, and report on internal audits. Track and support the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Deliver Quality induction training for new employees and support ongoing quality awareness initiatives across the site.
  • Coordinate the investigation and closure of non‑conformances, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions (weekly CAPA reviews).
  • Ensure quality documentation is up‑to‑date, controlled, and accessible. Support document reviews and updates as needed.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and HSE teams to support quality and safety initiatives across the site.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support cross‑functional teams in implementing changes.
  • Generate and complete Certificates of Conformance and compile test data into formal reports for submittal to customers as required.
  • Assist with calibration program.
  • Assist in updating controlled quality documents (procedures and work instructions) as required for compliance and changing business environment.
  • Support the preparation of Quality Assurance reports.
  • Occasional travel, as needed.
  • Additional duties to be assigned as required.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • 2+ years’ experience working within a Quality Assurance or Quality Systems role.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and internal auditing practices (Certified Internal Auditor (ISO 9001) or equivalent).
  • Supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and QMS software tools.

Desirable

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical field.
  • Background in manufacturing, ideally in electrical or electromechanical systems.
  • Lead Auditor trained (ISO 9001 or similar).
  • Experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D).

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

  • Experience working in an ISO 9001:2008 environment.
  • Experience in production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Critical Thinking skills – using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions and approaches to problems.
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills – ability to communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing so others will understand.
  • Able to manage multiple projects.
  • Able to meet agreed upon completion dates.
  • Able to motivate team members within a cross‑functional team.
  • Ability to make quality decisions based on experience with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
