Position Description

At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Specialist to join the Data Center Power & Control Division Starline Team in Reading, UK . The Quality Specialist\’s primary responsibility is the day-to-day management of Starline’s Customer Quality complaints and Warranty programs. The role involves leading investigations, reporting, field response, and in-house rework of customer quality cases.

What Will You Do?

  • Work with relevant departments to ensure successful implementation of quality systems and communicate changes effectively to integrate into daily operations.
  • Coordinate, participate in, and lead internal audit activities.
  • Ensure proper handling, quarantine, and disposition of nonconforming material.
  • Conduct failure investigations related to internal and external quality complaints.
  • Drive timely resolution of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Communicate information regarding product quality and safety topics effectively.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal customers, including supervisors, peers, assemblers, manufacturing engineers, and quality personnel.
  • Adhere to all company policies, guidelines, and practices, including the SECRIT values.
  • Support the Quality Manager and Systems Manager to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in preparing QA reports.
  • Lead and support quality improvement projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree in a technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience.
  • Flexibility for minimal travel (~20%).

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to run reports, present information effectively, and respond to questions.
  • Strong knowledge of 8D problem-solving methodologies.
  • Proficiency with ERP and other business systems.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing concepts is preferred.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs, and travelers.
  • Knowledge of standard wiring practices; IPC training or electrical certification is preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to manufacturing areas requiring PPE such as safety glasses and hearing protection.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs daily.
