Position Description Ata Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Incoming Inspector – 2nd Shift to join the StarlineTeam in Reading, UK . The Quality Incoming Inspector position is responsible for ensuring that all purchased material is reviewed for conformance against defined criteria using the necessary measurement and inspection equipment. Working Hours: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM What Will You Do? Inspection of all incoming material to determine conformance with applicable drawings, specifications, and/or instructions Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) on new part submissions Records inspection results into defined repository Assist in resolving any conformance related materials issue Documentation and processing of nonconforming materials Creates and or updates test plans as required Identifies the need for increased or reduced sampling based on historical inspection data Proactively seeks out opportunities to improve the incoming inspection process Supports company driven Kaizen events Creates and or updates Standard Work and associated KPI data Material movement of inspected items Performs all duties in a timely manner, must be a team player, self-motivated, and attention to detail Adhere to all company policies, guidelines and practices including the SECRIT values Assists in the Quality team in investigating, containing, and controlling material that is nonconforming Other duties as assigned Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Associate’s Degree in a technical background preferred Experience: 1-year minimum quality control inspection experience preferred Preferred Skills: Ability to read blueprints Ability to run reports, effectively present information and respond to questions Ability to use Syteline, MQ1 and other systems Ability to learn Microsoft office Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Concepts Proficient in reading engineering drawings and BOMs Excellent verbal and written skills required Ability to work independently Working knowledge of basic inspection (calipers, micrometers, functional gaging) equipment Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: The performance of this position requires exposure to the receiving/shipping and manufacturing areas where, in certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs Company Info About Legrand Legrand is the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures.
