The Data Governance Manager will embed effective data, AI and information governance across the organisation, ensuring policies and standards are applied in a practical, consistent way. The role focuses on execution, risk management, data quality and compliance, helping the business use data responsibly and effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and operate data governance policies, standards, and controls across data and analytics activities.
  • Support data owners and stewards in meeting accountability for data quality, integrity, and appropriate use.
  • Coordinate data quality monitoring, issue remediation, and root cause analysis with delivery teams.
  • Apply AI governance controls to supported use cases, including inventories, risk assessments, and documentation.
  • Support compliance with global data protection and privacy requirements, including DPIAs and audits.
  • Administer Microsoft Purview for data cataloguing, classification, lineage, and visibility of risk.
  • Provide practical guidance and training to teams on data and AI governance expectations.
  • Identify and escalate data or AI risks beyond tolerance to the Data Governance Lead.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in data governance, data management or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of data protection regulations such as GDPR.
  • Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement within a complex organisation.
