The Shopper Technology department sits within the Marketing & Channels Technology organisation at the LEGO Group. Our mission is to engage shoppers with fully digital experiences and connect physical and digital retail as shoppers move between store and web.
Core Responsibilities
- Guiding the team toward the simplest solutions that deliver working software to shoppers around the world.
- Setting and maintaining a high bar for code quality, testing, and refactoring across the codebase.
- Participating in user interviews, prototyping, and solution exploration to keep delivery grounded in real shopper needs.
- Prioritising features, bugs, and chores alongside product and design partners, with an eye on where the team’s time creates the most value.
- Coaching engineers to grow their craft and adapt confidently as tools and practices evolve around them.

We’re a fast-growing area with dedicated product teams responsible for LEGO.com omni-channel ecommerce and experiences, membership, and related shopper channels such as the Insiders app — all underpinned by cloud services and platforms. Do you have what it takes?
- Significant experience with web technologies — ideally Typescript and Node.js — and a strong sense of what well-structured, maintainable, well-documented, and accessible code looks like.
- A solid understanding of cloud services and event-driven architectures, and how they underpin scalable, resilient digital platforms.
- A practical, forward-leaning approach to AI in the development workflow — thinking critically about where it helps, where it doesn’t, and what guardrails matter.
- Demonstrable ability to coach and grow engineers through a period of significant change, helping them embrace new ways of working while maintaining strong engineering fundamentals.
- A natural default toward inclusive behaviours and highly collaborative ways of working.
- The ability to strike a balance between perfection and frequent shipping.
- Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and genuine curiosity about where software engineering is heading.
- Experience with accessibility standards and performance testing.
- Familiarity with lean product development, CI/CD, and small batch delivery.
- Advanced English both written and verbal would be ideal as we are an internationally gathered team.
