Want to build the digital play experiences that bring LEGO products to life? This role helps ensure that strong mobile engineering becomes a foundational capability across our portfolio rather than something solved app by app. By driving architecture, improving development practices, and supporting both modern cross-platform and legacy applications, you’ll give the team the technical strength to move faster and build with confidence. Your work will directly support the broader organization’s ambition to deliver high-quality digital play experiences that children love and families trust.
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, develop, and maintain scalable cross-platform mobile applications for LEGO consumers.
- Lead technical decisions on app architecture, code structure, and platform strategy to support long-term scalability and maintainability.
- Maintain and evolve legacy Unity applications by delivering new features and supporting upcoming LEGO products and experiences.
- Partner closely with UI/UX designers to deliver world-class user experiences with high attention to quality, usability, and visual detail.
- Ensure high engineering standards across code quality, testing, automation, release processes, and application reliability.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Consumer Service teams to identify issues, improve app performance, and enhance customer satisfaction across multiple products.
- Mentor and support other engineers on architectural patterns, scalable development practices, and modern cross-platform frameworks and tools.
Requirements
- Hands-on production experience with Unity or a similar cross-platform mobile app framework (Flutter, React Native, KMP, etc.).
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including architecture, object-oriented design, testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Proven experience designing scalable, maintainable application architecture for consumer-facing mobile apps.
- Experience working with legacy codebases and modernizing existing applications while maintaining stability and compatibility.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, QA, design, and product teams to deliver high-quality user experiences.
- Strong understanding of code quality practices, automated testing, CI/CD, and release processes for mobile applications.
- Significant software engineering experience, with substantial experience developing mobile or cross-platform consumer applications.

How to prepare for a job interview at Lego
✨Brush Up on Your Coding Skills
For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.
✨Know Your Tools and Frameworks
Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Lego uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.
✨Showcase Your Projects
Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.
✨Prepare for Behavioural Questions
While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
