Overview

In the Social Responsibility team (SR), we’re focused on creating meaningful impact for children in our communities – online and offline – and creating value for the LEGO Group. We’re joining forces with children, parents, caregivers and educators, our employees, partners, experts, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to unleash the power of play so children can thrive and build a better world.

As the head of the Global Initiatives team, you will lead a team responsible for developing global social impact initiatives, including content and ensuring globally aligned implementation. This role requires close collaboration with all SR teams, the wider LEGO Group, and external partners to ensure initiatives are impactful for communities and the LEGO Group alike, fit for implementation across regions, and aligned with ONE Social Impact Strategy (OSIS) and the Social Responsibility Aspiration.

Core Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the development and global delivery of a portfolio of social impact initiatives, including:
  • Deliver existing programs to meet external metrics (e.g., number of children impacted).
  • Develop new social impact initiatives through approved OSIS pilots that build on existing programs and knowledge.
  • Manage the transition from existing to new social impact initiatives in line with OSIS, ensuring scalable, regionally implementable initiatives across LEGO Group functions and the ecosystem. Use a co-creative, inclusive approach with SR LT, SR regional teams, LEGO Group teams, and external partners.
  • Lead the development of content (playbooks, guidelines, concept material) for initiative implementation across regions, global functions, and the wider LEGO ecosystem, with a co-creative approach to ensure local relevance.
  • Ensure initiatives are impactful by design, in line with the SR MEL framework, delivering shared value and critical metrics.
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Portfolio & Operations team on: a) timely input into annual planning, delivery of annual plan, forecasting, target setting, budgets and headcounts, and reporting; b) smooth grant processes with the LEGO Foundation from concept to reporting; c) supervision of partnerships with key external partners and internal teams (e.g., LEGO Education and Brand).
  • Engage and manage external partners to ensure initiatives deliver impact for communities and the business, and collaborate with regional SR teams and cross-functional teams (Child Rights & Safety, Employee Play Engagement, etc.).

As part of the team, contribute to setting direction for SR as one team to deliver on OSIS and the SR Aspiration.

  • Global social impact program development and management experience from an NGO and global business with a track record of innovating, developing, delivering, and evaluating impactful global initiatives and enabling local contextualization and implementation.
  • Strong partner management skills to work holistically across own team, other functions, and external partners.
