LEGO Digital Play will bring the LEGO® brand into digital entertainment in new, innovative, and wholly-owned ways. Our mission is to ensure the LEGO brand remains as powerfully a part of children’s lives in the coming decades as it has ever been. We aim to reach every kid on the planet, their parents, and adult fans—and provide them with meaningful, magical, and playful new experiences. We are at the earliest phases of this new company, offering a unique opportunity to build a new entity for the world's most beloved and trusted brand. Our culture is open, collaborative, intellectually rigorous, and creatively vibrant.
As P&C Tech Lead at LEGO Digital Play, you will deliver the people-technology foundations of a young company from a blank page. This is a 12–18 month contract focused on two things: selecting and implementing the core P&C systems, and designing and building an in-house payroll function spanning the UK, Denmark and the US. This role suits someone who has taken people systems and payroll from decision to go-live more than once, who is equally comfortable evaluating vendors and reconciling a payroll run, and who takes genuine pride in getting people paid accurately, on time, every time.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end selection and implementation of the core P&C technology stack — HRIS, payroll and connected people systems — from requirements and vendor evaluation through configuration, launch and adoption.
- Design and build an in-house payroll function covering the UK, Denmark and the US.
- Build the integrations and data flows between people, payroll, finance and benefits systems, keeping employee data accurate, secure and reportable end to end.
- Establish payroll and systems processes, controls and documentation (with Finance) that stand up to audit and scale as the company grows.
- Partner with Finance, Legal and external advisers on statutory reporting, tax, pensions and benefits compliance in each market.
- Enable the wider People & Culture team through training, documentation and a clean handover, so the systems and the payroll operation run smoothly beyond the contract.
Must Have:
- A track record of leading multiple end-to-end P&C/HR system implementations — across more than one platform, such as Workday or HiBob — from selection through configuration, launch and adoption.
- Demonstrated success implementing payroll systems and bringing payroll in-house.
- Experience building functions in an early-stage or scaling company environment.
- Strong command of employee data management, integrations and reporting across connected systems.
- A rigorous, controls-minded way of working, with clear documentation and an eye for detail under deadline.
Nice to Have:
- Background in gaming or technology companies.
- Working familiarity with Danish and/or US payroll and statutory requirements.
Hybrid Working: This role is based in our London office. Our hybrid working policy is three days a week in the office.
