Our Company Leggwork are working with a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure and transport improvement schemes across the South West. Due to continued project growth, they are seeking a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of projects across Somerset. This is a site-based role where you will be responsible for the commercial management of civil engineering works. You will work closely with site teams, clients and other stakeholders to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial and financial aspects of civil engineering projects.
- Track project costs, budgets and financial performance to help ensure projects remain profitable.
- Support the procurement of materials and subcontractors, assisting with subcontractor management.
- Administer NEC contracts including change control and reporting.
- Work closely with site teams and stakeholders to support the successful delivery of projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve commercial performance and help maximise project value.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience working in a Quantity Surveying role within civil engineering or highways projects (structures, street works, drainage).
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial management processes.
- Experience supporting project cost control, reporting and contract administration.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with operational teams and clients.
- Adherence to health & safety standards ensuring compliance with PAS-128.
