Company Overview
Leggwork are partnering with a leading Land and Utility Surveying specialist delivering services across some of the UK's largest infrastructure projects.
With a strong pipeline across Civil Engineering, Highways and Utilities, they are looking for an experienced Principal Surveyor with expertise across both Topographical and Utility/PAS128 surveying.
This is a senior technical position, providing the opportunity to lead surveying delivery, support and mentor surveyors, and act as a key point of contact for clients and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver Topographical and Utility/PAS128 surveys across major projects
- Act as the senior technical point of contact for surveying activities
- Operate Trimble Total Stations, GPR, Cat & Genny and electromagnetic locating equipment
- Review, process and quality-check survey data and outputs
- Identify discrepancies, site constraints and potential risks
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior surveyors
- Support survey planning and project coordination
- Liaise with clients, engineers, project managers and site teams
- Ensure works are delivered safely, accurately and to programme
- Support surveying standards, methodologies and best practice
Ideal Candidate
- 8+ years' surveying experience, covering both Topographical and Utility surveying
- Strong knowledge of PAS128 and Utility Surveying methodologies
- Proven experience delivering Topographical surveys on major infrastructure projects
- Proficient with Trimble Total Stations, GPR, Cat & Genny and electromagnetic locating equipment
- QCF, Pro Qual Level 5 or equivalent surveying qualification
- Previous technical lead, supervisory or mentoring experience
- Strong understanding of survey data collection, processing and reporting
- Excellent technical accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident communicating with clients and project stakeholders
- Strong understanding of H&S on live infrastructure sites
- Full UK Driving Licence

- CSCS or equivalent
- Tier 1 / major infrastructure experience
- Civil Engineering, Highways, Utilities or Construction background
- CAD experience
