We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Server Engineer II within our Global Server Operations team to help support our business. As a Server Engineer II, you will have the opportunity to help manage, monitor, and maintain both our enterprise server and Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by supporting and modernizing network platforms and infrastructure for the organization. This is an on-site position at our branch in Barnsley.
So, what will you be doing as a Server Engineer II?
- Provision, configure, and manage Azure resources including virtual machines, virtual networks, and storage accounts
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
- Assist with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
- Manage patching, updates, and lifecycle maintenance for our server and cloud infrastructure
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve infrastructure issues
- Enforce security best practices, policies, and compliance standards
- Optimize cloud usage and spending through Azure Cost Management, budgeting, and tools
- Collaborate with development teams, security teams, and IT operations to support application and infrastructure needs
- Document configurations, operational procedures, and runbooks
- Assist with cloud migrations from on-premises or other cloud platforms
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience administering server and Microsoft Azure environments
- Strong understanding of:
- Azure IaaS and PaaS services
- Networking concepts (VNets, VPNs, ExpressRoute, NSGs)
- Identity and access management (Azure AD, Conditional Access)
- Experience with Windows and/or Linux server administration
- Familiarity with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Azure CLI)
- Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
- Understanding of backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies

- Azure Certification - AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator
- Experience with:
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep)
- DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub)
- Hybrid cloud environments
- Cloud financial management / FinOps
- Application platforms including containers and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with industry compliance frameworks (ISO, SOC, HIPAA, etc.)
