About the role

Reporting directly into the COO, and working within the Legends Tour’s Operations Department the purpose of this role is to drive improvement of the Legends Tour events and associated financials across our third party promoters through a combination of relationship management, growth strategy formation & implementation and internal cross-functional communications.

The role will work closely with key stakeholders, including the Legal and Financial departments within the European Tour Group, Commercial team, Marketing team and Operations. This hybrid role is based at the Legends Tour Wentworth Head Office.

The key activities include:

  • Overseeing a portfolio of events and managing relationships with third party promoters;
  • Collaborating with our promoters to analyse their events and build business plans, including commercial, operational and marketing strategies, and align to long term financial plans/ the Legends Tour’s objectives;
  • Acting as the key point of contact for those events across a number of internal departments to ensure efficient business practice, including contracting, invoicing and event planning;
  • Working closely and liaising with the Commercial team to maximise revenue opportunities at Promoter led events where the Legends tour supports prize money / has assets to commercialise;
  • Maintaining a database of presentations for potential Promoters and venues and preparing sales collateral with the Marketing team under the guidance of the COO, and
  • Understand central Legends Tour Partnerships to understand and assist in delivering commercial rights to Promoter led events.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience of working with Legal teams and handling contracts
  • Detail-oriented, excellent teamwork and multi-tasking skills
  • Sports marketing, business development, account management, financial management and/or event management experience
  • Excellent, verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the year
  • Confident, pro-active and enthusiastic style that assimilates well within a team
  • Knowledge sharing within the business to ensure best practices are adopted across all events

Successful applicants will also ideally have:

  • Knowledge of the golf business, knowledge of how sports rights holder operate
  • Experience working with other cultures and international teams
  • Proficiency in a second language
