The Events Manager is responsible for planning, advancing, coordinating, and delivering a diverse programme of live events—concerts, comedy shows, sporting fixtures, conferences, and corporate events—while ensuring operational safety, efficiency, and the highest customer service standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, advancement, and coordination of scheduled events, ensuring all operational requirements are identified and met.
- Act as the primary point of contact for promoters, event organisers, tour representatives, and clients, guiding and coordinating event requirements throughout the lifecycle.
- Serve as Duty Manager during events, overseeing load‑ins, event operations, load‑outs, and coordinating venue teams, contractors, and production personnel.
- Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, security, and compliance, producing and reviewing event‑specific risk assessments and safety documentation, and responding effectively to incidents.
- Manage event budgets, forecasts, expenditures, and client recharges, ensuring costs are controlled, accurately recorded, and communicated to stakeholders.
- Coordinate cross‑functional working across all venue departments and external contractors, facilitating effective communication, leading event briefings, monitoring performance standards, and driving continuous improvement in delivery and customer experience.
- Ensure the successful execution of all events while prioritising quality and safety.
Qualifications
- Experience in the events industry or transferable skills from a similar role.
- Previous experience in crowd management.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with team members, clients, contractors, and visiting production teams.
- IOSH certificate preferred.
- Practical experience in writing risk assessments and safety documentation.
- Competence in MicrosoftOffice with a focus on Excel.
- Ability to interpret CAD drawings and use CAD software (preferred).
- Strong ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and prioritise workloads to meet strict deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail and self‑motivation in time‑management.
