Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Head of Sales – International Convention Centre, you will be responsible for securing conference and event sales that align with Olympia's launch plan and strategic goals while cultivating key relationships and driving revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Maximise conference and event sales opportunities and ensure sell‑out for all agreed event spaces within the International Convention Centre.
  • Work with the Head of Sales to execute strategies that support business objectives and maximise awareness for all guest experiences.
  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership, guidance and support to two sales executives, managing workload and achieving individual and team targets.
  • Delegate and prioritise enquiries, proposals and client communications across the sales team to ensure timely and efficient responses.
  • Support the effective planning and execution of the ICC’s launch phase.
  • Cultivate and develop key relationships within the corporate and consumer marketplace in the UK and internationally.
  • Represent the company with professionalism and expertise at trade shows and key industry events.
  • Develop robust relationships within the event agency, corporate and association event sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with lapsed and new clients to secure repeat business.
  • Create sales collateral, including brochures, presentations, case studies and pitch decks.
  • Expertly negotiate and close business deals.
  • Achieve KPIs and targets to meet the growth expectations of the business.
  • Collaborate positively with colleagues across Olympia Estates Services to ensure alignment with wider destination opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of conference and event sales experience.
  • Demonstrated experience of high‑level and high‑value C&E event experience and sales.
  • Proven track record of delivering and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Proven delivery of successful sales strategies.
  • Proven experience of event industry trends and marketplace dynamics.
  • Proven ability in managing complex internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft clear and compelling sales messaging.
  • Strategic thinker capable of developing and executing plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Ability to work under pressure and navigate fast‑paced environments.
  • A committed team player.
  • Highly organised and efficient with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyse situations quickly and respond to those seeking advice or guidance.
  • A confident public speaker who can present information to diverse audiences.
