The Venue OVO Arena Wembley is one of the UK's most legendary concert and events venues. With a rich history that goes back to its days as the Empire Pool and Sports Arena, the building has played host to numerous events including the 1948 and 2012 Olympics and for over 60 years, the 12,500 capacity Arena has seen some of the biggest names in music walk through its doors from Queen, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles to David Bowie, Cher, Michael Jackson, Madonna and ABBA. Hosting over 100 shows a year, the venue welcomes around 1 million fans every year.
About the Role: As our Assistant Management Accountant, you'll be more than a numbers specialist; you'll be a key partner in shaping the financial heartbeat of one of the UK's most iconic venues. You will support our Finance Business Partner in delivering accurate, insightful and timely financial intelligence that helps our teams make confident, strategic decisions. You’ll be responsible for:
- Producing key financial management information, including employee costings, cost-of-sales analysis, monthly commission statements and event-level profitability reporting.
- Supporting financial reporting cycles, assisting with monthly management accounts, annual budget and forecast preparation, weekly forecast reporting and event flash reports.
- Developing and maintaining robust event accounting processes to assess performance, maximise efficiencies and provide accurate financial insights for decision-making.
- Ensuring strong financial control, performing audits, identifying discrepancies or procedural failures, and monitoring for unusual activity to maintain compliance with internal controls.
- Providing essential support for audits and project work, including Year-End Audit documentation preparation and undertaking ad hoc financial analysis or reporting as required.
We are looking for someone with:
- 12 Months minimum experience in a finance role.
- Qualified AAT/Finance degree or relevant finance experience to the role.
- Strong accuracy and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse information and resolve issues effectively.
- A proactive and reactive working style, confidently managing your own workload and adapting to changing priorities.
- Advanced Excel skills and solid knowledge of wider IT systems, enabling efficient and accurate financial reporting and analysis.
- Excellent time management, organisational skills, and clear communication, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and reporting.
