As our Venue Security Officer, you will safeguard P&J Live by delivering exceptional security that protects people, property, and reputation. This role suits a flexible, proactive professional who thrives in a dynamic venue environment and can respond confidently to operational demands, including short‑notice shift cover.
Responsibilities
- Deliver 24/7 venue security operations, working a 4‑on, 4‑off 12‑hour day shift, operating from the Control Room, conducting internal and external patrols, and ensuring the safety of staff, guests, and property.
- Manage security systems and surveillance, including monitoring CCTV in line with policy, preparing evidence for police, and ensuring all building systems (fire, access control, intruder alarms, radios) are fully functional.
- Control access and screen staff, contractors, visitors, and production teams, including operating security arches and X‑ray equipment, managing venue keys, radios, and handling goods and deliveries securely.
- Respond to incidents and emergencies, act as a fire warden when required, liaise with emergency services, support event operations during emergencies, and accurately record accidents and incidents.
- Support security leadership and compliance, work with the Venue Security Manager and HSE Advisor on safety matters, contribute to security, emergency, evacuation, and business continuity plans, and undertake required training.
Qualifications
- Valid professional security qualifications, including a current SIA Door Supervisor licence, First Aid at Work certification, Fire Awareness training, and an SIA CCTV licence (preferred).
- Strong security and safety awareness, with knowledge of counter‑terrorism risks, completion of ACT training programmes, and the ability to support safe, compliant venue operations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage confidently and professionally with colleagues, visitors, and stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
- Proven resilience and professionalism, remaining calm under pressure, working effectively on your own initiative or as part of a team, and confidently handling challenging situations.
- Relevant industry experience within events, venue security, stewarding, or crowd management (preferred).
