Legend London is a globally recognised men's fashion e-commerce brand with a strong presence across the UK, US, Europe and Australia.

Having grown into an eight-figure business, our focus is now firmly on scaling to nine figures.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company at a pivotal stage of its journey, where you'll play a key role in helping shape the finance function that will support our continued international expansion.

The Role

We're looking for an ambitious, hands-on Financial Controller to take ownership of our financial reporting, commercial strategy, controls, multi entity consolidations and compliance across our international business.

This is a pivotal role within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial company operating across multiple territories.

You'll ensure our financial reporting is accurate, our controls are robust, and our reporting delivers meaningful commercial insights that support strategic decision-making.

This role goes beyond traditional financial reporting.

We're looking for someone with a strong commercial mindset who can partner with the wider business to drive performance, improve efficiency and support continued growth.

You'll play a key role in implementing and optimising ERP systems, identifying opportunities to leverage AI and automation across the finance function, and introducing scalable processes that enable the business to operate more effectively as we grow.

Working closely with the Head of Commercial Finance, CFO and senior leadership team, you'll become a trusted business partner, combining strong technical accounting expertise with commercial acumen, systems thinking and a passion for continuous improvement.

  • Reporting line: Founder/CEO
  • What Success Looks Like (First 12-18 Months)
  • An AI-powered finance and accounting platform is successfully implemented, alongside scalable finance systems and ERP solutions that automate key processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Month-end reporting is completed accurately and on time with minimal manual intervention.
  • Financial reporting and commercial insights are trusted, timely and support better strategic decision making.
  • Group consolidations across all international entities are completed accurately and efficiently each month.
  • Robust financial controls and governance are embedded across every entity.
  • Tax and statutory compliance is consistently achieved across all territories.
  • A high-performing finance team is in place with clear ownership, accountability and opportunities for development.
  • Finance is recognised as a proactive commercial partner, driving business performance through data, technology and strategic insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • AI Powered Systems & Process Improvement
  • Lead the migration from Xero to a fully integrated ERP platform, defining finance system requirements alongside key stakeholders.
  • Drive automation, standardisation and AI adoption across the finance function to improve reporting, reduce manual processes and increase operational efficiency.
  • Own the monthly close process across all entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Produce monthly management accounts, board reporting, KPI dashboards and continually improve the monthly reporting pack using Xero and Fathom.
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled and appropriately supported.
  • Develop and maintain a strong financial control environment.
  • Lead annual audit preparation and manage relationships with external auditors.
  • Maintain accounting policies and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Group Finance & International Operations
  • Lead monthly consolidation across the UK, UAE, Netherlands and USA businesses.
  • Manage all intercompany accounting, reconciliations and eliminations.
  • Ensure accurate foreign currency accounting and multi-currency reporting.
  • Coordinate statutory accounts, manage relationships with international tax advisers and ensure VAT, corporation tax and all other statutory filings are completed accurately and on time across all jurisdictions.
  • Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
  • Analyse business performance, profitability and margins, providing meaningful commentary and commercial insights alongside monthly results.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning through financial modelling and scenario analysis for strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and cash generation.
  • Partner with operational leaders to support commercial decision-making.
  • Challenge spending and identify cost-saving opportunities across the business.
  • Cash Flow & Working Capital
  • Monitor and optimise cash flow, working capital performance, cash forecasting and liquidity planning.
  • Oversee inventory accounting and stock reconciliations where applicable.
  • Support credit control and supplier payment processes.
  • Leadership & Team Development
  • Build, develop and lead a scalable finance function, recruiting and developing additional team members as the business grows.
  • Manage and coach the overseas bookkeeper.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and high performance.
