The Opportunity

To keep up with the growth of our Leasing and Franchising practice area, we’re looking for a Trainee Solicitor to join the team in late September/early October 2026.

There will be no rotations - you will be hired directly into our Leasing and Franchising practice group on a two year fixed term contract.

You will receive comprehensive formal and on-the-job training focused on technical legal knowledge, matter management, and client service and meeting professional obligations, to give you a strong understanding of the legal needs of our commercial clients, and to meet the requirements of your Qualifying Work Experience.

We are able to explore permanent NQ roles for Trainees who become admitted after a minimum of 18 months in the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Under the supervision of our Practice Leaders and Senior Associates, a typical day may include (among other things, and depending on your practice area):

  • Leasing: Assisting landlord and tenant clients with lease reviews and advice, advising on the property elements of business purchases, lease surrenders and drafting various lease and ancillary documents (for example, leases, subleases, licences, deposit deeds and side letters).
  • Franchising: Drafting and advising on master franchise documents and grants to franchisees for our franchisor clients.

Reviewing and advising on franchise agreements for our franchisee clients..

  • Providing oral and written advice to clients on a broad range of legal matters, including as part of our industry leading Legal Advice Consultation service.
  • Utilising cutting edge technology to provide commercial pragmatic legal advice within impressive turnaround times.
