Our friendly and proactive client law firm based in Tring is now seeking an experienced Legal Secretary Conveyancing to provide direct support to the Principal. The Legal Secretary Conveyancing will be supporting mainly in Residential Property but may from time to time, be required to assist in their Commercial Property Dept. Whilst experience in Commercial Property would be preferred, training can be provided. The Legal Secretary Conveyancing is expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative to enable the Principal to operate at optimum efficiency.

Duties:

To prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing and word processing.

To administer filing which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the Office Manual.

To prepare mail and enclosures for despatch.

To arrange for all copying to be done.

To make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up-to-date diary for his/her Principal.

To answer incoming telephone calls.

To provide support to other secretaries as required.

To provide guidance to junior and temporary secretaries when required to do so.

To attend clients both in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firms standards for client care.

To undertake any specific training when required to do so and overall to have a responsibility towards self-development.

To ensure the confidentiality of all the firms and clients documentation and information.

Specific requirements

To assist as Conveyancing Legal Secretary, as necessary, with the firms daily banking and with the operation of Barclays Internet Banking.

Required Skills and experience:

Legal Secretary Conveyancing

Excellent audio-typing skills.

Proficiency with Word and Outlook.

Good typing speed (at least 70 wpm).

Excellent typing accuracy.

Good spelling and punctuation.

Good general attention to detail.

Familiarity with layout of relevant legal documents.

Sound work management and organisational skills.

The ability to apply common sense in handling competing priorities.

A pleasant telephone manner.
