Responsibilities:
- Performing basic service tasks and developing skills in removal and reconditioning of components
- Progressing to perform more complex service and repair tasks, both in the dealership and out in the field
- Assisting qualified Technicians as required
- Reporting to a mentor regarding ongoing activities and progression
- Maintaining the condition of inventory, tools and equipment
- Participating in Service Training Programmes required for the development of skills and knowledge
- Following all safety rules and regulations
About you:
- You will require GCSE Grade 4 (or equivalent) in both English and Mathematics. A Grade 3 or equivalent in one subject only may be considered dependent on other qualifications and prior experience.
- A desire to learn, and a genuine interest in engineering.
- It will be a requirement that you have achieved GCSE grade 4 or Functional Skills level 2 prior to undertaking your EPA.
- Logical, able to listen, follow instructions, willing to study, able to work as part of a busy, fast-moving team, attention to detail, customer care skills, problem-solving skills, analytical skills, initiative, patience.
Training to be provided:
With mentoring, support and monitoring whilst at work, combined with residential training at the John Deere Training Centre, you will gain the knowledge and skills required to achieve the qualification. Please Note: Off the job training is on a residential basis with 8 x 2 week residential blocks. All travel and accommodation costs are covered by the employer.
