We are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join our Finance Central Services - Product Ledger team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our IFRS 17 financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, insight, and strong financial controls. You will collaborate with colleagues across change programmes, Product Ledger, and wider finance teams, helping us embed a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality delivery. If you enjoy working with data, solving problems, and contributing to robust financial processes, we would love to hear from you.

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting the IFRS 17 month-end accounting process, preparing accurate manual journals and data feeds.
  • Completing and supporting IFRS 17 reconciliations and investigating differences in line with reporting deadlines.
  • Working with change programmes to define requirements and implement solutions for data capture and reconciliation processes.
  • Reviewing end-to-end processes, identifying issues and opportunities, and driving continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with group standards, statutory requirements, and risk frameworks.
  • Keeping procedure notes up to date and supporting internal or external audit activity.
  • Ensuring finance processes and MI support fair customer outcomes in line with company policies.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across finance to deliver high-quality reporting and operational effectiveness.

Who we are looking for:

  • Experience working in a finance environment and/or progress towards an accounting qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with core accounting systems, ledger postings, or reconciliations (advantageous).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure thinking and draw clear conclusions.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate work.
  • Confidence working with large data sets and experience using tools such as Power Query (advantageous).
  • Curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to assess processes and recommend enhancements.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.

Benefits:

  • The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes.
  • Generous pension contribution.
  • Life assurance.
  • Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only).
  • At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years' service. There is also the option to buy and sell holiday.
  • Competitive family leave.
  • Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax-efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only).
  • Discounts for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online.
  • Our redesigned workspaces are great spaces to connect and collaborate, with wellbeing at the heart.

At L&G, we believe it is possible to generate positive returns today while helping to build a better future for all. If you join us, you will be part of a welcoming, inclusive culture, with opportunities to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds, views, and experiences. Guided by leaders with integrity who care about your future and wellbeing, you will be empowered through initiatives that support people to develop their careers and excel. We care passionately about outcomes rather than attendance and are therefore open to discussing all kinds of flexible working options including part-time, term-time, and job shares. Although some roles have limited flexibility due to customer demand, we accommodate requests when we can. It does not matter if you do not meet every single criterion in this advert. Instead, think about what you excel at and what else you can bring in terms of strengths, potential, and connection to our purpose.
