We have been safeguarding people's financial futures since 1836, striving to build a better society while improving the lives of our customers and creating value for shareholders. We are one of the world's largest asset managers and provide powerful asset origination capabilities. Together, these underpin our retirement and protection solutions: we are an international player in pension risk transfer, in UK and US life insurance, and in UK workplace pensions and retirement income.

Our Group Functions provide the services that all areas of the business need. This requires a talented and diverse team behind the scenes, who enable everyone at L&G to do what they do best. Joining us means helping to improve the lives of our customers and contributing to the success of the business every day.

We are recruiting for a Senior Manager, Leadership Communications to join us for a 6 month period. You will be responsible for communications from L&G's Group Management Committee to employees, and within our Group Senior Leadership Team, with a view to supporting our refreshed strategy and business goals.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Reporting to the Head of Employee Communications, you’ll be driving and delivering communications plans that build trust and credibility in L&G’s senior leaders with employee audiences and in support of business priorities, and L&G’s transformation agenda.
  • Driving a global communications strategy that will engage our Global SLT, supporting their leadership as we look to transform L&G in support of our new refreshed strategy.
  • Establishing regular communications channels for this audience, leading the delivery of two events per year, and working closely with teams across HR and the Transformation Office to align content with key business priorities.
  • Business partnering with senior stakeholders across the business, planning, designing and implementing creative, impactful, and effective communications for the Group SLT, including Town Hall meetings, partnership meetings, presentations, emails, social media posts and videos that present a consistent narrative across our channels.
  • Working closely with colleagues from across Employee Communications and Corporate Affairs, driving continuous improvement of Group wide processes, measurement and evaluation, editorial planning, and information sharing to strengthen cross divisional planning, collaboration, and strong internal relationships.
  • Partnering with the employee communications BPs and Content team to align messaging and content that is appropriate for cascade and dissemination to a wider audience.

Consumer Duty accountabilities:

  • Designing and developing assets and concepts that meet the needs, characteristics, and objectives of identified target audiences.
  • Ensuring communications are clear, fair, and not misleading and are fully compliant with any rules and guidance issued by the relevant regulators, including relevant data protection legislation.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Ability to develop understanding of L&G strategy and direction.
  • Extensive knowledge of editorial design and planning coordination methodologies and coordinating complex content dissemination at group level across a complex and matrixed organisation.
  • Content campaign frameworks.
  • Knowledge of best-in-class editorial planning/policies/standards.
  • Previous experience working in complex regulated organisations, ideally in FS.
  • Employee communications and leadership communications.
  • Narrative and campaign strategy development.
  • Ability to interact with individuals across the organisation and prioritise varied workload.
  • International experience desirable.

Benefits:

  • The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes.
  • Generous pension contribution.
  • Life assurance.
  • Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only).
  • At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday.
  • Competitive family leave.
  • Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only).
  • There are many discounts we offer - both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online.
  • In 2023, some of our workspaces were redesigned. Our offices are great spaces to connect and collaborate and have your wellbeing at the heart.

At L&G, we believe it’s possible to generate positive returns today while helping to build a better future for all. If you join us, you’ll be part of a welcoming, inclusive culture, with opportunities to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds, views, and experiences. Guided by leaders with integrity who care about your future and wellbeing. Empowered through initiatives which support people to develop their careers and excel.

We care passionately about outcomes rather than attendance and are therefore open to discussing all kinds of flexible working options including part-time, term-time and job shares. Although some roles have limited flexibility due to customer demand, we accommodate requests when we can.
