We are one of the world’s largest asset managers and provide powerful asset origination capabilities. Our global asset management business provides our clients and partners with complex, responsible investment solutions, working internationally across public and private markets.
We are looking for a talented Python Developer to join our team and play a key role in driving growth for our Multi-Asset and Asset Allocation teams. In this role, you will design and build scalable Python-based services that enhance our investment process and support the expansion of our Multi-Asset fund range. This is an exciting opportunity for a curious, fast learner with strong back-end engineering expertise and a genuine interest in multi-asset strategies and investments. We value individuals with a problem-solving mindset, deep proficiency in Python and SQL, and a passion for continuous learning. If you thrive in a collaborative, dynamic environment and enjoy tackling complex challenges, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Enhancing infrastructure for the Multi-Asset Funds team to improve robustness and ensure smooth platform transitions
- Designing and developing new and existing services based on evolving business needs
- Reviewing and improving data feeds to deliver high-quality inputs for research and fund management processes
- Collaborating with developers and data teams to maintain consistency with the overall LGIM technology approach
- Documenting and implementing support models for ongoing service maintenance
- Undertaking complex coding projects to strengthen and expand the multi-asset toolkit
- Applying strong data skills, including deep knowledge of SQL, data structures, and data processing
- Communicating complex technical and analytical concepts clearly to stakeholders while working collaboratively in a hybrid environment
Who we’re looking for:
- Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or related field
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Excel/VBA for data processing and automation
- Solid understanding of build automation, CI/CD systems, and tools for static code analysis and security testing
- Knowledge of APIs, RESTful services, and version control systems (e.g., GitHub)
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality, auditable solutions under tight deadlines
- Expertise in automated software testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development
- Ability to communicate complex technical and mathematical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
- Familiarity with major asset classes, derivatives, and experience building similar systems is highly desirable
Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:
- The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
- Life assurance
- Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only)
- At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
- Competitive family leave
- Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
- There are the many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
- In 2023, some of our workspaces were redesigned. Our offices are great spaces to connect and collaborate and have your wellbeing at the heart
At L&G, we believe it's possible to generate positive returns today while helping to build a better future for all. Guided by leaders with integrity who care about your future and wellbeing. Empowered through initiatives which support people to develop their careers and excel. We care passionately about outcomes rather than attendance and are therefore open to discussing all kinds of flexible working options including part-time, term-time and job shares. Although some roles have limited flexibility due to customer demand, we accommodate requests when we can. It doesn’t matter if you don’t meet every single criterion in this advert.
