We’ve been safeguarding people’s financial futures since 1836, and strive to build a better society, while improving the lives of our customers and creating value for shareholders. We are one of the world’s largest asset managers and provide powerful asset origination capabilities. Together, these underpin our retirement and protection solutions: we are an international player in pension risk transfer, in UK and US life insurance, and in UK workplace pensions and retirement income. Our global asset management business provides our clients and partners with complex, responsible investment solutions, working internationally across public and private markets.

Who we are

We are one of Europe’s largest asset managers and a major global investor across public and private markets. Asset Management is a critical driver of our Group strategy. The business aims to work synergistically with our Institutional Retirement and Retail divisions to benefit our clients and customers, and deliver enhanced shareholder returns. Our investment philosophy and processes are focused on creating value over the long term. We believe that incorporating financially material sustainability criteria, when relevant to our clients, can create value and drive positive change.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Strategy, Product and Marketing team, focusing on Active Fixed Income. This is a key role responsible for driving product strategy, development and lifecycle management across a diverse range of investment products, including UCITS, non-UCITS funds, ETFs and segregated mandates. Working closely with Investment, Distribution and wider business teams, you’ll play a central role in delivering innovative, client-focused solutions that support business growth while meeting regulatory standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong product expertise and a collaborative mindset to make a meaningful impact in a high-profile team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the design and delivery of new active fixed income and liquidity products across multiple product structures
  • Managing end-to-end product lifecycle activities including launches, enhancements, mergers and closures
  • Driving project management activity for product initiatives, defining milestones, risks and delivery plans
  • Ensuring adherence to product governance, regulatory standards and internal policy frameworks
  • Undertaking ongoing product reviews, assessing commercial viability and identifying optimisation opportunities
  • Providing technical product expertise across proposition design, regulation, distribution and operational considerations
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver product initiatives effectively
  • Analysing market trends, client needs and competitor activity to inform product strategy and innovation

Who we’re looking for:

  • Experience in product strategy, development and lifecycle management within asset management
  • Strong knowledge of active fixed income and liquidity strategies across different product structures
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and product governance requirements across key jurisdictions
  • Experience launching and managing funds such as UCITS, ETFs, or segregated mandates
  • Ability to manage complex projects and work with multiple stakeholders across a business
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all levels
  • High attention to detail with a focus on continuous improvement and delivery quality
  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent), with relevant professional qualifications (e.g. IMC, CFA, CAIA) desirable

Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:

  • The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
  • Generous pension contribution
  • Life assurance
  • Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only)
  • At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
  • Competitive family leave
  • Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
  • There are many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
  • We’re creating net-zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in-person experience
