Company Description

Legal & General (L&G) is a leading UK financial services group and major global investor. We’ve been safeguarding people’s financial futures since 1836, and strive to build a better society, while improving the lives of our customers and creating value for shareholders. We are one of the world’s largest asset managers and provide powerful asset origination capabilities. Together, these underpin our retirement and protection solutions: we are an international player in pension risk transfer, in UK and US life insurance, and in UK workplace pensions and retirement income. Our global asset management business provides our clients and partners with complex, responsible investment solutions, working internationally across public and private markets.

Who we are

We are one of Europe’s largest asset managers and a major global investor across public and private markets. Asset Management is a critical driver of our Group strategy. The business aims to work synergistically with our Institutional Retirement and Retail divisions to benefit our clients and customers, and deliver enhanced shareholder returns. Our investment philosophy and processes are focused on creating value over the long term. We believe that incorporating financially material sustainability criteria, when relevant to our clients, can create value and drive positive change.

Job Description

We’re recruiting for an Investment Reporting Analyst to join our Client focussed reporting team, responsible for interacting with clients and client teams to create bespoke reports. Serving as key subject matter expert to discuss the client’s reporting requirements related to their investment strategy. The Client Reporting Group within Global Client Services Operations sits under the Global Chief Operating Office within L&G Asset Management. The reporting function delivers client and fund reporting services across global mandates and client bases. This role sits within a team tasked with providing first class service for Asset Management's clients ranging from data analysis and report production across a diverse range of product and bespoke requirements. A key requirement of this role is to be able to demonstrate solution-based thinking and identify opportunities to add value to the client experience. This role is a 12 month fixed term contract.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Owning and managing the end-to-end production and timely delivery of accurate daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly client reporting, including investment reports, regulatory reporting, ad-hoc requests, and routine reporting tasks.
  • Overseeing and owning the collation and timely delivery of client data, ensuring adherence to SLA/IMA agreements, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Solving client requirements by collaborating with relationship teams, product specialists, and investment support functions to define scalable processes and enhance the client experience.
  • Demonstrating strong investment management technical knowledge and a detailed understanding of L&G Asset Management's products, brand, competitors, clients, decision-making processes, and long-term objectives.
  • Reforming and manipulating large, complex data sets to support bespoke client requirements.
  • Representing client reporting and service capabilities internally and externally, partnering with Client Service Solutions and relationship teams to align with client strategy and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Attending and contributing to client review calls and onboarding meetings, addressing reporting and strategy queries while capturing requirements and showcasing client-focused expertise.
  • Project managing ad-hoc queries, data requests, and client changes in collaboration with business stakeholders, ensuring delivery aligns with client expectations.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Strong experience of working with large data sets. Preferably from an investment management background but not essential.
  • A desire to question the status quo and work on their own initiative showing good investigative skills when complex queries arise and a strong ability to problem solve.
  • Good experience in managing external and internal stakeholders, building significant relationships with contacts up to and including senior levels.
  • Significant attention to detail and able to demonstrate high levels of accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Proficient IT skills, primarily with MS Excel and PowerPoint (VBA, Python, Power BI and SQL plus but not essential).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:

  • The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes.
  • Generous pension contribution.
  • Life assurance.
  • Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only).
  • At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday.
  • Competitive family leave.
  • Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only).
  • There are many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online.
  • We’re creating net-zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in-person experience.
