Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn? The L&G Marketing internship is an 8-week programme, running from June to August. During this time, you’ll have the chance to develop your skills, gain valuable insights, and get hands-on work experience.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Shadowing and collaborating with the senior team by liaising with our subsidiary businesses and stakeholders to ensure our communications align with Legal & General’s broader messaging and corporate objectives.
- Supporting the execution of external communications strategies by drafting press releases and reviewing measurement.
- Helping to create written materials such as press releases, award submissions, case studies, speeches, and presentations.
- Monitoring forward features and the news agenda across key publications.
- Supporting brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and design.
- Assisting with an events programme that includes in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, such as press events and industry conferences.
- Working with our internal communications team to support proactive and two-way communications across the business through various channels including email, video, town halls, and other events.
- Providing administrative support and working closely with our Marketing and Communications teams to ensure all activities are aligned and maximised across multiple channels, including proactive and reactive social media.
You will also need to have your own valid right to work in the UK.
Qualifications:
- We’re seeking penultimate-year undergraduates with an inquisitive mind and a desire to learn.
- No prior industry experience is required, but we’ll want to see that you have the tools to develop quickly.
- On track for a 2:1 degree (any discipline; however, a degree in marketing or a related field would be advantageous).
- Penultimate year of university (i.e. graduating in 2027).
- Desirable: Additional language skills, particularly Italian, German, or French.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Analytical mind-set.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively; you are someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible and a team-player.
- Curiosity and an eagerness to learn.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Passion for the news and the written word, with a creative approach to delivering concise and responsive communications in line with the company’s strategy.
