Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced Head of Market Solutions to join our Institutional Retirement Investments team, leading the development and execution of investment strategy across both new business and in-force portfolios. This is a senior role at the centre of balance sheet optimisation, offering the opportunity to drive innovative solutions across asset liability management, liquidity strategy, and capital-efficient investing. You’ll collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organisation, shaping strategic direction and delivering strong, risk-adjusted outcomes aligned to long-term objectives.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading the identification and delivery of optimisation opportunities across portfolios within SAA and TAA frameworks to enhance risk-adjusted returns
- Overseeing the asset side of new business execution, including transition management and hedging of pension schemes
- Developing and driving innovative solutions for balance sheet management across hedging, liquidity and capital efficiency strategies
- Partnering with stakeholders to generate ideas that improve pricing and optimise back book performance
- Shaping and delivering investment strategy with a focus on ALM and liquidity management
- Advising on regulatory developments and leading the delivery of associated change across the business
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with teams across Asset Management, Treasury, Finance and Risk
- Embedding strong conduct risk principles and controls to ensure consistent delivery of good customer outcomes
Who we're looking for:
- Strong experience in asset liability management within insurance, asset management, or an institutional financial services environment
- Deep understanding of insurance balance sheets, capital frameworks and profit reporting regimes
- Strong knowledge of derivatives markets, including rates, FX, inflation and collateral requirements
- Strong understanding of Solvency II and broader regulatory frameworks
- Excellent analytical and quantitative capability, supported by a numerate degree or equivalent
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across a complex organisation
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to translate market insights into strategic outcomes
- Strategic thinker with the ability to lead through complexity and drive long-term value
