We are recruiting for an Executive Assistant to the Chair to join us. As the Executive Assistant, you will provide high-quality support to our newly appointed Chair and help ensure the smooth, efficient running of the Chair's Office. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys building strong relationships, and can combine strategic thinking with excellent organisational skills.
Working closely with the Company Secretariat, senior leaders, and stakeholders across the business, you will play a key part in supporting effective governance, decision-making, and engagement at the highest level.
Location: One Coleman Street - Occasionally required to attend offsite meetings across the UK to support board meetings and other events.
Working pattern: Hybrid working, with in-office presence required when the Chair is onsite (typically 3 days per week but with patterns that can vary). During board weeks and other key meetings, a full week of office attendance is required.
What you’ll be doing:
- Acting as a central coordination point between the Chair, Board members, Executive Committee, and key internal and external stakeholders.
- Preparing clear, concise briefing materials and context for meetings and upcoming discussions.
- Managing a dynamic diary and thoughtfully reprioritising commitments when required.
- Coordinating Board papers, pre-reads, and governance materials in partnership with the Company Secretariat.
- Supporting onsite Board and senior meetings, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for all visitors.
- Managing travel, logistics, itineraries, and communications with accuracy and discretion.
- Overseeing expenses and administrative processes and maintaining an organised, responsive Chair's Office.
- Anticipating needs by understanding context, priorities, and stakeholder expectations.
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience supporting a Chair, CEO, or senior Board-level leader.
- Strong understanding of governance, confidentiality, and Board operations.
- Background working in complex or regulated corporate environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and confidence engaging with senior leaders.
- Ability to remain calm, detail-focused, and effective during busy governance cycles.
- Sound judgement, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive information.
