Job Description
We’re looking for a Data Business Analyst to join our growing Data Operations team, where you’ll play a key role in delivering modern, cloud-based data solutions across the Retail business. In this role, you’ll sit at the heart of the organisation, working closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into meaningful data products. You’ll help enable reporting, analytics and data science capabilities, supporting the business to make better, data-driven decisions. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working end-to-end across projects, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is comfortable operating at the intersection of business and technology.
What you’ll be doing:
- Gathering and understanding business requirements from a wide range of stakeholders
- Translating business needs into clear, structured requirements and user stories for data teams
- Facilitating workshops and stakeholder discussions to shape and refine requirements
- Managing multiple workstreams and balancing priorities across time, cost and quality
- Working closely with engineers, testers and reporting teams to support delivery
- Supporting agile delivery through participation in stand-ups, sprint activities and reviews
- Analysing data, scripts and datasets to identify gaps and define solutions
- Communicating progress, managing expectations and ensuring alignment across teams
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience in a Business Analyst role, ideally within a data or technology environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels
- Comfortable working in agile environments and adapting to changing priorities
- Technical awareness, including understanding of SQL and relational databases
- Ability to translate complex technical and business concepts into clear, actionable outputs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a curious, investigative mindset
- Proactive approach, with the confidence to challenge, validate and follow through on requirements
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences
Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:
- The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
- Generous pension contribution
- Life assurance
- Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only)
- At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
- Competitive family leave
- Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
- There are many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
- We’re creating net-zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in-person experience
