We are one of the world’s largest asset managers and provide powerful asset origination capabilities.
We’re looking for a Financial Model Developer Manager to join our Product Engineering team and lead the development of business‑critical financial modelling capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of technology, actuarial thinking and risk management, supporting modelling across asset liability management, capital and market risk. You’ll play a key role in shaping how financial models are designed, built and delivered, working closely with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust, scalable solutions.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading a team developing and supporting financial models and analytics platforms across risk and modelling domains
- Driving the delivery of business‑critical modelling projects and technology‑enabled change initiatives
- Translating business requirements into model design and implementation, acting as the link between stakeholders and technical teams
- Enhancing model production processes to improve efficiency, scalability and control
- Designing and implementing risk management solutions aligned to regulatory frameworks
- Providing technical leadership, coaching and guidance across financial modelling and development capability
- Defining and shaping model configuration, integration and enhancement activities to support delivery
- Leading team development and fostering a collaborative, high‑performing environment
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience leading financial modelling or quantitative development teams in a complex environment
- Strong financial modelling and risk analytics knowledge, ideally within financial services or insurance
- Background in translating complex business requirements into technical modelling solutions
- Strong programming capability, e.g. Python, C++, VBA or similar technologies
- Solid mathematical or analytical background, with the ability to work with complex data and scenarios
- Experience working with modern development tools (e.g. Git, JIRA, Confluence or similar)
- Ability to lead, coach and develop teams, creating an inclusive and collaborative culture
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non‑technical audiences
Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:
- The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance‑related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
- Life assurance
- Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only)
- At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
- Competitive family leave
- Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand‑new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
- There are many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
- We’re creating net‑zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in‑person experience
At L&G, we believe it's possible to generate positive returns today while helping to build a better future for all. If you join us, you’ll be part of a welcoming, inclusive culture, with opportunities to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds, views, and experiences. Guided by leaders with integrity who care about your future and wellbeing. Empowered through initiatives which support people to develop their careers and excel.
