Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn? The Data Architecture internship has been designed to help you reach your potential. You’ll gain hands on work experience and build a strong skill set around Data and Technology Architecture. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative, forward-thinking team that’s passionate about Technology strategy, Data and Architecture. You’ll receive support every step of the way, with access to core skills training and guidance from your line manager. As part of a graduate cohort, you’ll also connect with peers through networking opportunities and social events.

Your role at a glance:

  • Support data and technology architects in documenting current state and future state architecture using standard templates, diagrams, and modelling tools.
  • Assist with data analysis and research, gathering information on systems, data flows, and technology options to inform architectural decisions.
  • Help maintain architecture artefacts such as data dictionaries, application inventories, integration maps, and metadata repositories.
  • Contribute to solution assessments, evaluating proposals for alignment to architectural principles, data standards, and security guidelines.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and project workshops, capturing actions, updating documentation, and ensuring architectural insights are fed back to the wider team.

Who we're looking for:

We’re not expecting prior industry experience, but we’ll want to see that you have the tools to develop quickly. These include:

  • On track for 2.1 Degree in any subject – we are open to all subject backgrounds
  • Curiosity and a strong desire to learn
  • An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with great attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A flexible, collaborative team player
  • Basic knowledge of productivity tools like Microsoft 365, and an interest in learning analysis and diagramming techniques.

Additional Information

Whatever your role, we reward ability, performance and attitude with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Your hard work will be rewarded when you join us. At L&G, we believe it's possible to generate positive returns today while helping to build a better future for all. If you join us, you’ll be part of a welcoming, inclusive culture, with opportunities to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds, views, and experiences. Guided by leaders with integrity who care about your future and wellbeing. Empowered through initiatives which support people to develop their careers and excel.

We care passionately about outcomes rather than attendance and are therefore open to discussing all kinds of flexible working options including part-time, term-time and job shares. Although some roles have limited flexibility due to customer demand, we accommodate requests when we can. It doesn’t matter if you don’t meet every single criterion in this advert. Instead, think about what you excel at and what else you can bring in terms of strengths, potential and connection to our purpose.
