Job Description
Join us at Legal & General as an Indirect Tax Manager supporting our Public Markets business. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, where your expertise in indirect tax will help shape the future of our investment operations. What you\’ll be doing:
- Acting as the key indirect tax contact for the public markets business
- Advising on VAT implications of trading activity, product structures and operational changes
- Supporting new product launches and cross-border investments from a tax perspective
- Partnering with Finance, Legal and Operations to implement tax-efficient solutions
- Reviewing service agreements and supplier contracts for VAT considerations
- Overseeing preparation and submission of UK VAT returns and related filings
- Managing partial exemption methodologies and annual adjustments
- Identifying opportunities to improve VAT compliance and support automation initiatives
Qualifications
Who we\’re looking for:
- ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified (or equivalent) with a strong academic background
- Proven experience in UK VAT and awareness of EU/international indirect tax issues
- Familiarity with investment management services and cross-border financial supplies
- Ability to explain complex tax matters clearly to non-tax professionals
- Strong relationship-building skills with internal teams and external advisors
- Experience in a professional services firm or in-house tax team at Manager level
- Proactive problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Excellent communication and influencing skills across varied audiences
