Job Description

At L&G Affordable Homes, we\โ€™re on a mission to make a real difference in the UK housing sector. As a top-10 developer of affordable homes, we\โ€™re proud to be delivering high-quality, sustainable housing that supports communities and transforms lives. We\โ€™re looking for a Development Manager to join our growing team and help shape the future of affordable housing. If you\โ€™re commercially minded, collaborative, and passionate about creating lasting impact, we\โ€™d love to hear from you.

What you\โ€™ll be doing:

  • Managing a pipeline of affordable housing schemes across the Southern Home Counties
  • Supporting the sourcing, appraisal and contracting of s106, package deals, land-led and joint venture opportunities
  • Collaborating with Finance and Operations to appraise and test schemes against investment parameters
  • Leading negotiations with vendors and partners to secure commercially viable deals
  • Overseeing the contracting process and ensuring compliance with governance and risk frameworks
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with developers, consultants and internal teams
  • Monitoring project delivery to ensure high-quality outcomes and customer satisfaction
  • Promoting inclusive, safe and sustainable development practices across all projects

Qualifications

  • Experience in affordable housing acquisitions or development management
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of social housing and regulatory frameworks
  • Proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with partners and stakeholders
  • A collaborative approach with excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Confidence in financial and risk appraisal of development opportunities
