Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and aspiring Quality Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will build on your emerging software testing skills to validate new features, identify defects, and contribute to improving our ways of working. Through hands‑on learning and collaboration, you will help deliver reliable, high‑quality software that creates real value for our customers.
What you’ll be doing:
- Continuously developing your skills and capability by undertaking relevant training and learning opportunities within your quality engineering discipline
- Contributing as part of a collaborative engineering team to test features, identify defects, and help deliver high‑quality outcomes for our customers
- Participating in feature refinement activities to ensure quality is embedded early and solutions are well understood before development begins
- Supporting code review activities to help maintain high standards of quality, reliability, and alignment with defined customer outcomes
- Actively engaging in team meetings to share knowledge, stay informed, and contribute to continuous improvement across the team
- Providing clear and timely updates, and working closely with team members to support smooth and effective delivery of development activities
- Collaborating openly across disciplines to promote quality, consistency, and shared ownership of outcomes
- Supporting the team in ensuring all customers and stakeholders are treated fairly and consistently, in line with Legal & General’s Customer Experience principles and Consumer Duty commitments
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience working in a quality‑focused or closely related role, with exposure to software delivery or engineering environments
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas, issues, and outcomes
- A curious mindset with a passion for creative problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team, contributing positively to shared goals
- A proactive approach to personal development, demonstrating ownership of learning and a willingness to build new skills
Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:
- The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
- Generous pension contribution
- Life assurance
- Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only)
- At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
- Competitive family leave
- Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
- There are many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
- We’re creating net‑zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in‑person experience
Additional Information
