We’re looking for a motivated and collaborative Actuarial Analyst to join our Collateral & Reinsurance Management team. The Collateral & Reinsurance Management (or CRIM) team sits within our award-winning Pension Risk Transfer Division, and offers a unique opportunity to focus on managing the arrangements agreed following a Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) deal. This will involve maintaining ongoing relationships with reinsurers, and potentially Trustee counterparts, as well as providing calculations relating to post-sale pricing, reinsurance, longevity insurance, and other collateral arrangements. This is a hybrid working opportunity, which means you can split your working week flexibly between your home and our London office to help you achieve a work-life balance that works for you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the delivery of post‑sale monitoring and calculations across buy‑ins, buyouts, reinsurance, longevity insurance and collateral arrangements
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, consultants, trustees and reinsurers
- Providing high‑quality actuarial analysis and insight to support post‑transaction pricing activities
- Supporting and reviewing the work of Operations Analysts within the Collateral & Reinsurance Services team
- Contributing proactively to wider PRT New Business project work (alongside BAU)
- Problem solving capabilities, including the ability to apply strong analytical skills and pensions knowledge to resolve issues
- Managing your own time effectively to ensure deadlines are met and work is completed to a high standard
- Upholding our commitment to consistently delivering great customer outcomes
Who we’re looking for:
- Part‑qualified actuary, who is making progress with the IFoA Exams
- Knowledge of Defined Benefit pension schemes and the relevant valuation techniques
- Previous experience working in a pensions consultancy or de‑risking provider environment (highly beneficial)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to work quickly and accurately while maintaining high quality
- Strong time‑management skills and confidence working to tight deadlines
- A proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement
- Commitment to acting with integrity and delivering positive outcomes for customers
Benefits:
- Competitive salary & Actuarial study support
- The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
- Life assurance
- At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
- Competitive family leave
- Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice
- Discounts for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
- Creating net‑zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK
