Amitabh Lal Das is the Business Head and Chief Legal Officer at Hyundai Motor India Limited since September 2024, where he has significantly contributed to steering the company through its landmark IPO—celebrated as India’s largest IPO to date. A dual-qualified lawyer in India and the UK, he brings over three decades of experience across litigation, arbitration, corporate law practice, and senior leadership roles. His ability to blend legal insight with business strategy has positioned him as one of the most influential corporate legal leaders in the country.

Over the course of his dynamic career, Amitabh has worked with several leading multinational corporations and Indian conglomerates, gaining deep exposure to industries such as technology services, internet businesses, media and advertising, automotive, and financial services. His expertise covers a wide spectrum—legal advisory, regulatory compliance, risk management, public policy, government relations, and corporate governance. Known for his strategic thinking, he has successfully supported organizations through complex regulatory challenges, high-stakes transactions, and transformation initiatives, aligning legal frameworks with organizational goals.

Prior to joining Hyundai, Amitabh held influential roles at Bajaj Auto, Max Life Insurance, Yahoo! India, and Sapient, where he established strong legal foundations and contributed to business growth. Academically, he is an alumnus of Delhi University (St. Stephen’s College & Campus Law Centre), and has earned prestigious qualifications from the College of Law, York (England), XLRI, and the Institute of Risk Management (UK).
