Build an exceptional career with a conveyancing powerhouse
If you are an experienced conveyancer looking for a role where you can handle high-quality work, earn well and take the next step into a leadership position, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
We’re partnering with a highly regarded property law firm with an exceptional reputation for residential conveyancing. Known as a conveyancing powerhouse, the firm has built a strong market position through the quality of its people, client service and technical expertise.
The firm is now looking to appoint a Senior Conveyancer to join its Hove team.
This is an opportunity to combine hands-on conveyancing with a significant leadership role. Acting as second-in-command to the Team Partner, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day management and success of the department, helping oversee the team, support colleagues and maintain high standards across the practice, while continuing to manage your own varied caseload.
You'll work on genuinely interesting matters, including complex and technically challenging transactions, high-value properties and high-net-worth clients. You'll have the autonomy and responsibility expected at Senior level, alongside the opportunity to influence the wider team and contribute to its continued development.
Crucially, you'll have dedicated 1:1 assistant support, giving you the resource to manage your caseload effectively without being weighed down by unnecessary administration.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
You'll be joining an established firm with a reputation that is already firmly established within the conveyancing market.
Rather than simply handling a high volume of standard transactions, you'll have the opportunity to broaden your technical experience, work with sophisticated clients and become involved in a wide variety of property matters.
Alongside your fee-earning responsibilities, you'll take on an important leadership position within the department, working closely with the Team Partner to oversee the team, provide guidance and support to colleagues, and help ensure the smooth running of the practice.
The firm also places genuine emphasis on retaining and developing its people. High performers have clear opportunities to take on greater responsibility and progress their careers within the business.
You’ll benefit from:
- 1:1 dedicated assistant support, allowing you to focus on your clients and legal work.
- A market-leading bonus scheme with significant earning potential.
- The opportunity to work on a varied and technically interesting caseload.
- Exposure to high-value and high-net-worth transactions.
- A key leadership position, acting as second-in-command to the Team Partner.
- Management responsibilities, helping oversee, support and develop the wider team.
- The backing of a firm with an exceptional reputation in conveyancing.
- Hybrid working, offering flexibility between home and office.
- Strong staff retention and a genuinely supportive working environment.
- Clear progression opportunities for ambitious individuals.
- The opportunity to build your reputation, leadership experience and technical expertise within a leading property practice.
The Role
This is a varied position combining hands-on residential conveyancing with team leadership and management responsibilities.
On the fee-earning side, you'll manage a varied residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to completion and post-completion.
The work will include a mixture of standard and more complex transactions, giving you the opportunity to deal with sophisticated legal and technical issues and develop your expertise further.
You'll take ownership of your matters, build strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders, and ensure transactions progress efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
With dedicated 1:1 assistant support, you'll be able to concentrate on the technical, client-facing and commercially important aspects of your role.
Alongside your caseload, you'll act as second-in-command to the Team Partner, taking an active role in the day-to-day management of the department. Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Team Partner with the overall management and running of the team.
- Overseeing and supporting team members, providing guidance and assistance where needed.
- Helping manage workloads, priorities and the smooth day-to-day operation of the department.
- Supporting colleagues with technical queries and more complex conveyancing matters.
- Promoting high standards of client service, technical quality and team performance.
- Contributing to the ongoing development and success of the department.
This is an opportunity to step into a position of genuine responsibility, where you'll have a meaningful influence on both the team's performance and the wider success of the business.
About You
You will have:
- Significant experience handling residential conveyancing matters.
- Strong technical knowledge and excellent attention to detail.
- Experience managing a caseload independently from instruction through to completion.
- Experience dealing with complex, high-value or high-net-worth transactions would be advantageous.
- Previous team leadership or management experience, ideally within a conveyancing department.
- The confidence to support, guide and manage colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to oversee workloads and competing priorities.
- Excellent client management and communication skills.
- A commercially minded and proactive approach.
- The confidence to take ownership of your work and use your experience to resolve technical issues.
- Ambition to develop your leadership responsibilities and progress your career within a leading property practice.
You may be a qualified solicitor, licensed conveyancer, CILEX professional or experienced conveyancing fee earner.
Most importantly, you'll be an experienced conveyancer who takes pride in the quality of your work, enjoys supporting others and is ready to take on a broader leadership role within a successful property practice.
Salary and Bonus
The firm offers a competitive salary and market-leading bonus scheme, providing genuine opportunity to increase your earnings in line with your performance.
The bonus structure is designed to reward high performers and reflects the firm's commitment to attracting and retaining the best talent in the market.
Flexibility and Benefits
This is a full-time position based in Hove, with a hybrid working arrangement providing flexibility between office and home working.
You’ll have the support and infrastructure of an established office environment, alongside the flexibility that modern professionals increasingly expect.
The Opportunity
This is more than another Senior Conveyancer position.
It’s an opportunity to step into a key leadership role, working as second-in-command to the Team Partner while retaining a hands-on involvement in an interesting and varied conveyancing caseload.
You’ll benefit from the support, earning potential and career development of a firm that has built a standout reputation in conveyancing, while having the opportunity to influence the team, support its continued success and further develop your own management experience.
If you’re an experienced conveyancer who wants better-quality work, genuine support, strong earning potential and the opportunity to take the next step into leadership, we’d like to hear from you.
