Build Your Career in Conveyancing. Specialise in Completions. Progress Your Future.

Not every conveyancing role needs to start with managing a caseload.

If you're looking to build a long-term career in residential property law, this is an opportunity to join one of the South West's leading legal teams in a role that will give you invaluable exposure to one of the most important stages of the conveyancing process—completions and post-completion.

We're working with a highly regarded regional law firm that's looking to expand its specialist South West Completions Team. They're searching for a Conveyancing Assistant who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent attention to detail and wants to develop a long-term career within residential conveyancing.

This role offers genuine progression, whether that's developing into a more senior completions position or moving into broader conveyancing and fee-earning opportunities in the future.

Why This Role Stands Out

This is much more than a traditional legal support role.

You'll become part of a dedicated completions team responsible for ensuring residential property transactions complete efficiently and registrations are handled accurately and on time. It's a fantastic opportunity to develop specialist technical knowledge while working alongside experienced conveyancing professionals who are committed to supporting your development.

The firm is known for investing in its people, providing structured learning, ongoing mentoring and clear opportunities for progression across its Residential Property department.

If you're ambitious and looking for a firm where you can build a long-term legal career, this is an excellent place to do it.

The Role

Working as part of the South West Completions Team, you'll support the Residential Property team across the Bath and Bristol offices, focusing primarily on the completions and post-completion stages of the conveyancing process.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing completion packs, completion statements and supporting documentation
  • Liaising with fee earners to ensure matters are ready for completion
  • Coordinating completion monies with lenders, solicitors, developers and clients
  • Processing completion funds and confirming legal completion
  • Preparing and submitting HM Land Registry applications, including AP1 applications
  • Assisting with Land Registry requisitions and registration matters
  • Supporting new build and plot sale registrations
  • Managing post-completion diaries to ensure deadlines and priority periods are met
  • Maintaining accurate records using the firm's case management system
  • Providing administrative support to the wider completions team while delivering an excellent client experience

About You

You'll ideally have some previous experience within residential conveyancing and be looking for an opportunity where you can continue to learn and develop.

You'll have:

  • Previous experience within residential conveyancing, either as a Legal Assistant, Conveyancing Assistant or in a similar legal support role
  • Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong communication and client service skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment
  • Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • A proactive attitude and genuine enthusiasm to develop your legal career

Experience with completions, post-completion work, HM Land Registry applications, SDLT submissions or new build transactions would be advantageous, but full training will be provided.

The Package

  • £28,000–£30,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid working (4 days in the office, 1 from home)
  • Structured training within a specialist completions team
  • Clear opportunities for progression within Residential Property and the wider legal business
  • Exposure to high-quality residential conveyancing and development work
  • A supportive, collaborative team environment where development is genuinely encouraged

Benefits Include

  • 26.5 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Profit share bonus scheme
  • Hybrid and flexible working
  • Comprehensive learning and development programmes
  • Healthcare and wellbeing support, including an Employee Assistance Programme and healthcare plan
  • Enhanced pension
  • A collaborative and inclusive culture with regular social and wellbeing initiatives
  • Long-term career progression opportunities within a growing and highly respected regional law firm

If you're looking for a role that will give you specialist conveyancing experience, structured development and genuine opportunities to progress your legal career, we'd love to tell you more.
