A well-established law firm in Taunton is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Solicitor to join its busy Residential Property team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional with at least three years’ experience managing their own residential conveyancing caseload. The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative team environment whilst enjoying a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload of residential property transactions from initial instruction through to completion. They will provide a high-quality service to clients whilst supporting the continued growth and development of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied residential conveyancing caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Handling transactions including:
    • Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
    • Shared ownership transactions
    • Help to Buy matters
    • Unregistered title transactions
    • Transfers of equity
    • Remortgages
  • Providing clear and practical legal advice to clients throughout the conveyancing process.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, developers, and other solicitors.
  • Maintaining excellent levels of client care and communication.
  • Ensuring files are progressed efficiently and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Mentoring, training, and supervising junior team members.
  • Assisting with the development and growth of the Residential Property department.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, Licensed Conveyancer, or experienced Conveyancer.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience managing a residential conveyancing caseload independently.
  • Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of residential property matters.
  • Excellent client care and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment.
  • Proven experience or a genuine interest in mentoring and supervising junior colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
