Our client prides themselves on putting their clients at the core of what they do, striving to deliver quality legal advice and services in a way to suit their client base. On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit a Private Client and Wills fee earner to join their existing Private Client team as part of the continued growth of their law firm based in Midsomer Norton, which is commutable from local towns in Wiltshire, Somerset and the city of Bath.

For the role, you will have a strong background in Private Client law and solid legal and Will writing experience. It would also be desirable for you to have experience with tax planning in the context of, and incidental to, a person's lifetime planning, as well as ensuring wills and Lasting Power of Attorney documentation is accurate. You will be able to confidently assist clients with advice on estates of all sizes, including those subject to IHT, communicating with clients and having the drive to progress cases is a must. Many of the firm’s clients live locally, so face-to-face meetings are a daily occurrence, and therefore strong client communication skills are essential.

Desirable Skills / Experience:

  • Probate and Estate Administration.
  • Drafting all types of Wills.
  • Drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney.
  • Preparing IHT400 Inheritance Tax Accounts.
  • Corrective accounts.
  • Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, and Inheritance Tax in the context of estates.
  • Drafting estate accounts.
  • Deputyship applications.
  • Legal research and use of online research services.
  • Use of a case management system (preferably ALB, though not essential).
  • The use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
