A well-established and respected law firm in Plymouth is seeking a Family Paralegal to join its friendly and supportive Family Law team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with family law experience who is looking to further develop their legal career within a busy and professional environment. You will work closely with experienced fee earners, providing support across a broad range of family law matters while delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaising with clients, solicitors, counsel, courts and other professionals via telephone, email and in person.
  • Drafting and preparing legal documents, correspondence, attendance notes and witness statements.
  • Assisting with the preparation of court bundles and disclosure documentation.
  • Reviewing and drafting court documents and other case‑related paperwork.
  • Filing and submitting documents with the courts.
  • Supporting fee earners with case management and administrative tasks.
  • Maintaining accurate client files, diary management and file administration.
  • Assisting with basic financial administration, including invoice preparation and expense tracking.
  • Opening and closing client files and undertaking general office administration.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have at least one year’s experience within Family Law and be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • A professional and client‑focused approach.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
