The Role

  • Working closely with, and reporting directly into, a team of three senior fee earners who specialise in clinical negligence.
  • Managing your own caseload with a high level of autonomy.
  • Handling a mixed caseload of fast-track and intermediate-track matters.
  • Triaging new enquiries and assessing which cases the firm will proceed with.
  • Delivering a high-quality, personal service to clients, which is central to the firm’s ethos.

The Firm

This firm places strong emphasis on quality over volume. While there is an expectation to record an average of approximately six hours per day, there are no strict billing targets, reflecting the nature of clinical negligence work and the importance of ensuring the best possible outcomes for clients. The firm operates very much as a family practice, and this ethos filters throughout the business. A solicitor who joined the team 18 months ago from a large regional firm has described it as a “very different place to work”, valuing the supportive culture and the fact that individuals are treated as people rather than numbers.

Working Environment & Benefits

  • Working hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm
  • No expectation to work outside core hours
  • Flexible approach to working hours where needed to accommodate family commitments
  • Attractive salary dependent on experience
  • Friendly, well-established, and supportive team environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Solicitor with strong clinical negligence training
  • 2–5+ years’ PQE (candidates outside this range will be considered on merit)
  • Confident running their own caseload independently
  • Keen to become an integral part of a close-knit and experienced team
  • Committed to delivering excellent client care
