Our client is a well-regarded law firm and on their behalf, we are seeking a passionate and committed Solicitor to join their specialist team. The firm’s office is based in Taunton; however, hybrid working is available, with the opportunity to work the majority of the time from home once up to speed.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor with a genuine interest in the rights of vulnerable individuals and public law matters. The successful candidate will join a friendly and supportive team acting for clients in complex and high-profile cases, often involving significant matters of public interest.
The firm advises and represents clients in the following key areas:
- Court of Protection (Health and Welfare)
- Inquests
- Judicial Review
- Healthcare Funding
- Human Rights Act (HRA) Claims
- Mental Health
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied caseload in the areas outlined above, with appropriate supervision
- Represent clients in proceedings before the Court of Protection, Tribunals, and other relevant forums
- Draft legal documents and provide clear and accurate legal advice
- Conduct advocacy where appropriate
- Contribute to the development of the department and maintain high standards of client care
- Engage in legal research and stay updated on changes in the law
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A qualification as a Solicitor (NQ+ applicants welcome)
- Experience or a strong interest in one or more of the firm’s key practice areas
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A client-focused approach and a commitment to access to justice
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
