Our client, a well-established and highly regarded law firm in Somerset, is seeking a proactive and organised Legal Assistant to join their Private Client team. This role will involve supporting fee earners across a broad range of private client matters, including Wills, Probate, Trusts, and Estate Planning. The position is available at either the Bridgwater or Glastonbury office, with flexible working arrangements available (both full-time and reduced-hour options considered). The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the department by providing high-quality administrative support and maintaining excellent client service standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative support across all areas of Private Client work
- Assisting with drafting correspondence and preparing legal documents
- Managing and maintaining accurate case files and records
- Liaising with clients in a professional and approachable manner
- Coordinating diaries, appointments, and general team administration
- Supporting fee earners to meet deadlines and progress matters efficiently
- Assisting with improving administrative processes where appropriate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous administrative experience, ideally within a legal environment
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn new systems
- Experience within Private Client work would be advantageous but not essential
