Our client, a highly regarded specialist family law practice based in Exeter, is seeking a Newly Qualified to 2 years’ PQE Family Lawyer to join its established and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer with experience in family law, particularly divorce and financial matters, to further develop their career within a specialist practice known for its high-quality work and client-focused approach.
You will work alongside experienced family law specialists and will be involved in the day-to-day conduct of divorce and financial remedy matters, gaining exposure to a varied and interesting caseload while receiving ongoing supervision and mentoring.
Key Duties & Responsibilities- Managing and assisting with a caseload of divorce and dissolution proceedings
- Supporting and progressing financial remedy matters, including disclosure and settlement negotiations
- Drafting pleadings, court documents, and legal correspondence
- Preparing and reviewing financial disclosure and case documentation
- Advising clients with empathy and professionalism on sensitive family matters
- Liaising with counsel, courts, and third parties as required
- Attending client meetings and court hearings (with support where appropriate)
- Ensuring compliance with procedural requirements and internal processes
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case files
- Qualified solicitor, legal executive, or equivalent
- Newly Qualified to 2 years’ PQE with experience in family law
- Experience of divorce and/or financial remedy work
- Strong communication and drafting skills
- A client-focused, empathetic approach
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
