An established professional services organisation is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join its team. This is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing all HR operations, ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation and relevant regulatory standards, and partnering with senior leadership to support a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
This opportunity would suit an HR professional with strong judgement, excellent communication skills, and previous experience within a legal or professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding processes.
- Provide expert advice on employment law, HR policies, employee relations matters, and HR best practice.
- Oversee training programmes, CPD requirements, compliance, and professional development frameworks.
- Support senior leadership with workforce planning and resource management.
- Maintain and analyse HR data, ensuring GDPR compliance and accurate reporting.
- Review and update HR policies to ensure alignment with current legal and regulatory requirements (including relevant professional standards).
- Lead initiatives focused on employee engagement, wellbeing, and retention.
- Support payroll and benefits administration in collaboration with the finance function.
- Manage complex disciplinary, grievance, and capability cases.
- Ensure accurate HR documentation and record keeping at all times.
- CIPD qualified or qualified by experience.
- Previous HR experience within a law firm or professional services environment is highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Highly organised, dependable, and able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Proactive and solution-focused, with the ability to work independently.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (office-based).
